FUTURE PLANS

The health centre has the following plans for the next year’s activities;

q Upgrading the Health centre to hospital

Due to increased demand of health provision within its catchment area, the Centre will devote its efforts to try upgrade it to a full hospital. This goal will be achieved by implementing the following;

- Recruiting more skilled staff to meet the hospital requirements

- To solicit more funds for completion of the Operating theatre and the In-patient laboratory.

- To send applications to the responsible registry authorities in the MOH

- To solicit more hospital equipment for hospital use.

- Construction of more wards

q Start major operations

Due to increased case referrals to Iringa Government hospital for surgical and obstetric interventions, the Centre is striving as quickly as possible to establish major surgical procedures within its services so as to save more patients [especially mothers] needing surgical interventions for deliveries and for accident victims. This is only possible after completion of the surgical theatre building which is under construction. A donor is being solicited for funding this vital and immediate need.

q Purchase a Utra sound set and Acquire an x – ray facility

Due to the fact that the Health Centre is attending more and more patients that need special radiological examinations to establish diagnoses it is thus very important to acquire such an equipment. The centre will solicit well-wishers to assist in acquisition of these important facilities.

q Dental clinic

Dental problems are increasingly high up among OPD attendants in the unit, dental service is now offered at the centre by a qualified clinician, since then referals caused by dental issue have been minimized. However the price to purchase a new dental chair and accessories is very high, The centre is looking for a donor to assist on that.
